I'm doing my framing in the morning and Ive been worrying about my xbox, ps3, direct tv, etc controllers. Im going to have all of my electronics outside of the theater in a rack. So between the seating, which probably less than 10 feet away, will be double 5/8th dry wall with green glue, on both sides of the wall.

I know plenty of people here had builds with racks outside of the room. Will RF controllers work in the theater, or in my other matrixed tvs on the other side?

I've not heard of an issue with RF and super thick walls, but if you are really concerned put in a run of Cat6 from the screen wall to the equipment area and worst case you could use an IR link.

Your best bet is to check out the A/V Automation and Control sub-forums here on AVS. Options include Wi-Fi IP control to low voltage wiring for an IR based system. Not sure RF is the best avenue.
