Need more extension

So a couple of years back I built this TH

it doesn't break any windows or belt out huge spl but it certainly delivers good performance for its size and cost. I want to go deeper though but I'm pretty size limited. The max dimensions are 48"x15x30.


Is there any good designs out there currently that would get me down to say 18hz at 105db or 100db? Can't go sealed.

I like this idea and never considered a side firing sub.


If I go with a slot port like the easy button, figure 2" tall and 13.5 wide the port length would be about 91.5" and the chamber is around 7-8cuft. Hitting it with a 500 watt bash amp where would I hit the X-max? I may be able to build this on two sheets.


I can never get my models to work for some darn reason in winisd.

Been playing around with winisd, mdeling with a bash 500w amp and the dayton 18" and the SI 18"



Course then I remembered I have two unused 18" maelstroms in my basement and put that in the model with an ep2500 and 2kw



Am I missing something, the box has a driver depth dimension of about 13.5". I can build it in two sheets doubling up the baffle or possibly one sheet with one baffle.

So no comments?




After looking at some numbers and seeing what I would have to buy I think I am going to go with the SI 18" and a 550 watt dayton plate amp, box is about 10cuft and a 27.25x12.5 port length. I'm going to need two sheets for this.


I think I may sell my two sealed mael-x's in their own cubes.

I have to deal with what I have and those dimensions are the largest I can go. I've pretty much tossed out the idea of sealed since I need output.

Do you guys even read what I type?

Well thats a bit out of my price range


plus I have 4 maelstroms in the basement and I have to keep the boss happy, she's a bit unhappy with 85db at 60hz so I don't need to go full reference level in my critical viewing area.
