If you build a 16:9 screen you wont be zooming or shifting the image, 2.35 movies will will just play like regular except with black bars top and bottom (just like on a regular flat panel TV) If you wish, you could mask those black bars if you wanted.
According to the projector calcula,,tor i linked earlier, with the viewsonic pro8200 you need to be 11' back and at full zoom to get 110" 16:9 screen. Realistically you are going to be looking at more like a 9' maximum throw distance with the width of the projector and your screen wall. To get anywhere near the size screen you want, you probably need to be looking for projector with a 2x zoom. I have a panny AX200U which is a very versitale PJ and it can't throw 110" from 9' either. Or just settle with a smaller screen. 110" is really big only sitting 9"ish" feet away.
I have about a 96" screen and from the front row (about 8.5 feet) it seems plenty big. Almost too big for gaming, but fine for TV and movies.

Sorry for missspelled replies. Replying from my phone . I will find a 2x zoom.... Or try lol. Keyworl try. I know it will be give.but were looking forward to thar lol

It may be difficult to find a 1080p projector with 2x zoom in your price range. Just a heads up.

I had some more ideas I wanted to run by you, tell me what you think.

Im not going to tear down any walls for this build, so I need a way to get speaker wire from the front of the room to the back AV Closet and I thought of some good ways to do this. The carpet in the room, and the couches, are a light color but I want a pitch black room. For the walls I was going to do the top 60 percentish in a dark purple color and then have a wall accent diving the wall. Inside the wall accent I was going to hide the actual AV cables so noone would be the wiser! The bottom half of the room I had 3 ideas, (A) I paint it a black color and make the wall accent gold for a purple black and gold scheme. (B) Place a lot of that Fake Brick material (the 3d material) to make it just look nice and then I could also finish off the false wall with some of this material If i wanted. (c) Paint the bottom black but use those fence like wall accents to make it look a little less bland.

EDIT: Other idea also was, in the front (fake wall) have red open theater curtains to make the feel of a theater .

If you like purple and black then Id stick with painting. Skip the bricks. Purple on top and black on bottom would be fine...if you want to make the bottom look fancier you could just add some trim in square patterns to make it look like fancy paneling.

I'm curious as to what you would use to divide the two colors that will hide your wiring?

Also, you really don't want anything on your screen wall. Your screen wall needs to be a screen and the rest needs to be entirely black. Anything else will be distracting. If you want to curtains for the "theatery" look that would be fine though.

Make sure you read through THIS thread. Its the GO TO thread on screen walls and should work perfect in your situation.

Your photo shows what I'm doing. See the wall trim at the top, Im going to get one thats a bit hallow and hide the cables in that.

So, I close on the house on Friday and will begin construction in the next 2-3 weeks. But I just got my tax returns and the wife said I could keep a bit of it (my wife owns me, she is law lol) . So I can get a good projector but I want a short throw one so I can get a bigger screen. Any recommendations on a good 1080p (possibly 3d) short throw projector? Maybe I can get my 110 screen after all.

Also, I will take some pictures of the room this weekend if the closing goes according to plan so you can all get a better image of the space I'm working with. I also bought spandex to make a homemade screen. I followed the advice of this forum on what company to buy from and the colors, I have a lot of grey and white spandex to make the AT screen and I'm really excited!!!!!

Good news, I close tomorrow! My lawyer forgot to mail in some documents which postponed closing. I ended up getting the BenQ W1070 projector from Visual Apex and I got my Spandex for the DIY AT screen. I got the silver and white matte stuff that everyone talks about from Spandex World.

I will post pictures tomorrow!!! Promise!!! I move in on Sat and on Sun I paint the room to prep it for stage 1! Painting it black most likely and after I paint it, I will begin construction of the fake wall next weekend.

So good news and bad.

The day I was suppose to close, the house flooded (pipe burst from cold weather and home owner not having the heat on). Insurance company is paying for everything and they have a crew out there repairing everything but it delays my closing a few weeks.

Good news: I have pictures and I will explain them as I post them.

*
Wideshot of the room showing the windows. Both will be covered with blackout material. One (on the back wall) will be hidden behind the false wall and the other will have a hardwood frame over it with a movie poster engraved in it (ill show them later, they are actually really nice decorations)

*
Room has its own power! Don't have to worry about blowing the power to the house because this room is on it's own grid and has a light dimmer already preinstalled.

*
Servpro guy (insurance company contracted them to dry house) checking for moisture in what will be the utility closet.

*
What I'm most worried about! The distance between the door and the wall, where my false wall was going to go!

I measured it and it's 16 2/4 " and my speakers are 14 3/4", leaving me with only 1 3/4 to work with. My other problem is that my BASS wont fit unless I turn it sideways, so I will have to house that outside the false wall, which ruins the whole hidden and clean aspect of the false wall. Or I turn it sideways and face it into one of the corners. One of your Audiofiles out there can tell me if thats a good idea or not, I would appreciate it.

Anyway, tell me what you think, these are the compromises you make with a SMALL home theater room but a small one is better then not having one at all.

Well, painting, trim, and lighting are all done. Working on the 2nd coat of paint today and probably my screen. I will post pictures tonight or tomorrow night.

Here are some pictures of the room 80% complete. Note: The posters on the wall are actually etched into wood and have no paper, they are really nice quality and heavy duty. They stick out a bit from the wall and make a nice 3d effect.
