hi all, im looking for some help...

i just purchased a dune hd d1 player and i would like to get a hdd for it. i plan on doing a nas later next year but my budget wont allow that right now.

so here are my questions
1. should i get an internal drive or external? why?
2. what is the max size hard drive that will work? internal/external?
3. what hard drive are you using in your dune player?

1. Doesn't matter, chose the one you prefer.
2. 4TB internal, 3TB external USB (might work with 4TB but I think no one tested it)
3. Any 5400rpm hdd with low heat emission (so avoid 7200rpm at any cost). WD green or red drives are ok.

I am in the same position as the OP. My thoughts are that a 3 or 4TB drive in the Dune will last me quite a while. Shopping for an appropriate HD has been very confusing. There are lots of complaints about WD Green drives formatting and other problems but I have not found much related specifically to the Dune.
