Upgrading HT in a box sub

I got a refurbished onkyo 5400 a while back and have upgraded the center and two fronts to bic america speakers. (Dv62 si and dv62 clr). Was looking at subwoofers next and curious what the recommendations are. I don't listen to a lot of music on the rig so i guess my use is like 95% HT and 5% music. The room is 20x14 with vaulted ceilings. Maybe 20x14x15. My max budget is probably around 500. Considering bic's subs pl200 or f12, seen klipsch recommended, stf-2, or pa 150. Any other choices or opinions about these subs for my usage?

SVS PB-1000 ($499, shipped):
- 10" driver
- 300W RMS
- 19-270Hz +/-3dB

Just don't expect miracles from any $500 sub in a 4,200 cu.ft. room. wink.gif

after upgrading the center and fronts on my HTIB im beginning to believe almost anything is better than what comes with a HTIB. I do think the receiver is quite good though.

That's a very reasonable assessment to make. smile.gif And, ye, sometimes, the AVRs that are packaged with them are pretty good.
