Harman, Onkyo or Marantz? Desperately Trying to Make A Decision.......

I’m in the process of building a new home theatre system for my basement. I recently purchased a Panasonic Viera TC-P50GT50 plasma television, a Panamax M4300-PM clean power surge protector, a Sony PlayStation 3 (mostly for Blu-Ray playback) and an Xbox 360. I also have a 7.1 Harman Kardon HKTS-15 speaker set-up I plan to use. My last real hurtle is the AVR. I have done a lot of research and have finally narrowed it down to three different models, which are listed above in the poll. I’m having a hard time choosing one. Please take the poll and then let me know what you based your decision on.

Five votes for the Marantz. Why is this a better receiver then the Onkyo or the HK? Opinions please!

I'll never buy another Onkyo but since it's your money I'd recommend the 818 because of the Audessey XT32.

The older HK AVR 3600 is actually better than the 3650. Better power supply and connectivity. And it can be found refurb for $399 with 2 year warranty.

I would probably go with the Marantz 6006 also. Another option would be the Denon AVR 3312 for $599. well looks like its $649 now.

Onkyo has been notorious the last few years with having HDMI board failures. Several threads here on AVS about it. And it's been many models over last 4-5 years.

I'm leaning towards the Marantz, but I have a friend who is also pushing me towards Denon, but I have read about a lot of network card failures with them.

Three failures with two receivers pushed me away from them. 805 and 807. If I went for a third and had another failure I'd reeeeeally feel dumb. I went with a Marantz SR7005. 3 year warranty.
IF they fixed the HDMI board problems with the 818 I don't know. Time will tell. The XT32 is a nice feature on the Onkyo.

I have no interest in either. I have always felt Yamaha was over rated. Their sound quality always seemed flat. I have no experience with Pioneer.

How do you like the on screen display? The small window on the front of the unit seems like it could be frustrating to use, but I'm assuming the on screen display makes up for this.
