The problem with searching...

I am willing to scour the forums for comparisons and recommendations but I am finding two problems with this method that waste a ton of time:

1-Reading older posts can get me all fired up for something only to find it is discontinued and no longer available for purchase(energy rc-10, energy s10.3).
2-Deciding on something I like but seeing that people were getting them for a significant discount that I just missed. I understand that sale prices expire, but it makes me think if I wait long enough they will come back to that price.

I admit I am very quick to hit the "start new thread" button, but sometimes timely information is alot more helpful than older discussions.

Anyway, after deciding to upgrade my old onkyo receiver to a new denon 1713 I am now putting my effort into speakers. At this point I am closing in on two options with similar cost, looking for some last minute input.

Used for 95% movies and gaming, 5% music. Max budget about $1000.

Option 1 (cheaper sub, more expensive front)
Front and surround - Cambridge s30
Center- Cambridge s50
Sub - Bic f12

Option 2 (cheaper front, more expensive sub)
Front and surround - Infinity p163
Center- Infinity p351(can i even pair this with 163's or is it made for the tower 363's?)
Sub- Hsu Vtf-1

I was just reading about the rw-12d, and the more I think about it the vtf may be a bit more than I wanted to spend. I guess I should spend some time on the subwoofer page comparing stf-2 and the rw-12d. Not like it will matter a whole lot in the end, I am expecting to notice a pretty big difference with either one over my current parts express dayton 10 inch from 2005.

getting very close to ordering the rw-12d. hard to ignore the 299 sale, and i don't want to wait to long and miss it. haven't seen one bad word about the stf-2 but in a room connected to an open dining room and kitchen i think the push from the extra power might be noticeable.
