Crackling noise on DCX2496

I came across a "good deal" on a DCX2496 but the guy claims it has some crackling noise coming out of it "sometimes". He also states that he has heard this happening with other units as well, but it's fixable. Anyone here heard of this issue? And is it "easily" fixable?

Many of the early units had the intermittent crackling problem, including one of mine. Look for "high" solder points on the underside of the output board. "Fish paper" (thick pressure sensitive insulating paper) applied to the chassis underneath the boards sometimes works....or maybe back to Behringer for service.
