I currently own the 2011 WD-73640.
With the announcement of there being no more RPTV's from here on out, I've decided to get the set I really always wanted before they are no longer available. Either the 82" or the 92" set.
Now I'm only starting this thread in the hopes of getting to the bottom of finding out specifically, if there is any improvement in just the PQ of these 2 model years?
I'm aware of all the new features and stuff. I would just like to know if the picture quality of a 2012 model is any better than it's 2011 counterpart. It would be great if I could get responses from other people who happened to own a 2011 model and a 2012 model. Or maybe someone who has seen both a 2011 and a 2012 side by side etc.
If there isn't improvement in the PQ of a 2011 model VS a 2012, well then if I find a 2011 at a great deal I may as well just get that set I guess.
I already checked the 2012 owners thread but damn there's way too much info and it's all over the place.
I'm sure others are curious about this as well...
Thanks in advance.
