Receiver that supports 3D

As a start check out post #2 in each of the Denon AVR-XX12 (last year's models now on clearance, if still available) and Denon AVR-XX13 (current year's models) threads linked in my sig to see a comparison of the models in your price range, noting that there are several authorized resellers (eg. AVS Sales, Electronics Expo) that will give a discount off MSRP if you "call" them as they will list MSRP on their websites. Last year's 2112CI or this year's 2113CI would likely serve you well.

You might make sure you have hispeed hdmi cables, sometimes even a non-3d avr (hdmi 1.3) can pass the signal. You should do fine at that price point for an avr with hdmi 1.4 or better (supports 3d). Might depend somewhat on your amplification needs...altho the DT spec for "max" sensitivity, whatever that is, is 92db for your speakers so they're hopefully that indicates they're relatively efficient. You can always go outboard amp if you get an avr with pre-outs. Curious, what are your plans with the subs in the tower? Not to use them or supplement them? You'll need an HDMI 1.4 AVR to pass full 1080p 3D video of which both the 5005 and 2312CI are HDMI 1.4. However, the 2312CI offers the more advanced version of Audyssey MultEQ XT over just MultEQ in the 5005 so would be the better choice.

Another less costly option is to add a dual HDMI 1.4 BDP to pass the 3D video to the PJ and the HDMI audio to the current AVR.

3312 has a little more power, 7.2 preouts to add an external amp. You can use optical/digital coax inputs for Zone 2 audio, has dual HDMI outputs.

If all you need is a receiver that can pass 3D video, you could get the entry level Denon AVR 1613. But it is pretty limited on inputs besides HDMI.

If you're willing to spend $600 the AVR 3312 is probably your best option.

HDMI cables aren't 1.4, they're hispeed or not altho marketers have blurred that distinction.

The Trinnov room correction in the R972 is well regarded, and I believe the latest editions of the R972 were updated to 1.4 but you'll need to check source as to what version they're selling.

You're not likely going to notice that much difference between 720p and 1080p, not too mention your PJ is likely to do just as good of a job as the video chip. Audyssey DSX gives you the capability to add Front Wide or Front Height speakers (instead of rear surrounds) as shown in the drawing below.
