jbl 3731 bottoms

http://www.performanceaudio.com/buy/JBL/3731/18705 I have the horn sections but trying to determine the most ideal box for the bottoms. I have 3) jbl 2226s but the box per spec for the 3731 is tuned to 40hz. I want the most punch from at the lowest 60hz on up to the 350 hz xover point. More than likely subs will cover from 80hz on down. Suggestions?

I do have 6 TD15x but 2 aren't in use and as I get ready to finish the center channel I was thinking about changing them all to jbl. I at least wanted to try the center to hear compared to what I have now. If I like it more I'll swap out the the other 2. If not I'll go the other route.

Hmm. Interesting that you would want to change them all out. Is there something that the AE TD's don't provide?

Anyhoo... you could try picking up a couple 2226's and trying them in the same cab you have the TD's in. That would be the simplest solution all around. Test out as your center channel.

On movies no issues on music I'd like to see if better can be achieved. I got a huge increase in clarity, vocal presence, and impact when I switched out to the big boys. Now I wanna make sure i'm not leaving anything on the table. I'll try out your suggestion re the jbl in the existing box. Thx Scott!
