Amb1s1 Official Theater

I officially started my theater build 2 weeks ago, but I'm in the started process where I was deciding how to design my theater. Taking outputs from couple of AVS Users, I already decide my HT layout. Right now, I'm in the cleaning process of my basement and I will be making a big order this weekend. I will be doing my entire basement, but I will like to focus just the Theater build in this tread. I was previews thinking about doing one row, but since I always have my nephew and his girlfriend in my house I decide to do 2 rows.

This is a hole that have space under my daughters Room, it also have a vent to outside. Should I block this hole entirely or should I have like a plug with an small vent. I don't know if I block that vent I would do something wrong.


Here is my List of Items that I want to buy and because I have a 20% HT coupon that will expire on 12/31 I want to buy as much as my budget permit.

1. 2x4 - Framing 24" on center

3. Whisper clip just for the ceiling (I will be doing double wall for my walls)

6. 14 gauge 100' electrical wire
7. Roxul Safe n Sound
8. Maybe Drywall

I can hear the different when I talk, there is no echo in the room.

I want to use this 3 in recessed light on my soffit:

I would like to know how far away from each other should I install the lights?

I'm going to buid a sofit without insulation.

If I have the lights 4' feet apart and I can't have insulation 3' near the insulation so that's mean that I have 1 feet of insulation between each lights.

I got some of my video and audio cables and wall plates from monoprice.
My funds are done for this round. I'm fixing little details and stuff that I can fix without the need of buying materials.

I have a question about my false wall with AT screen. If you see the picture my left side of the front of my ht is 1' away from the wall and the right side is just few inches. Since my room is not that big I'm fighting for every inch. I was planning to put my false wall 16 to 24 inches away, but I would not be able to put my left speaker in the right position. What you guys think I should do?

As you can see on my sketch the back of my theater is not as wide as the front. Where should I locate the projector? Right in the back middle of the ceiling, that is my common sense, but I just want to confirm so I can nail a plywood between the studs to support the projector mount. Thanks

Long time that I have not updated my build. Here are my updates pictures:
Front stage

Here is the left column an entry. I'm going to have five zone, three insteon dimmers and two insteon on and off switches. I'm also bought the Bose 191 in wall speaker and I will have it on the columns.

This is the raiser. I did it with 2x8 and two layers of 3/4 plywood. I also had black 30 felt between the 2x8 and the floor and between the two layers of plywood.

This is going to be my equipment rack.

I just bought a 18000 btu 20.5 seer LG mini split. The mini split is double the recommended for my ht space, but I will be using it to cool down the entire basement. We barely use the AC on the first floor during the summer due that my house is cover by trees. For heater, the mini split will be heating the HT and I have baseboard on the other part of the basement.

What you guys think about this setup? I'm thinking about doing this due to budget for the couch. I'm like the pallet to be paint in black with red and black pillow. I can fit just two rows, but the only issue is that must time I would like to wath the movie seating and there is no back support. Maybe I do the back row like this and old sofa in the front. It will be cool with led in the bottom.
