Need a little help please.
Picked up a couple Tivos to use as a whole home solution as opposed to the Whole Home DVR from Cox (I already own one Tivo). Of course Cox can't get the cable cards paired right and want to roll a truck... sigh...
Anyway, my question has to do with the actual set up of the system. Since I don't have ethernet outlets in the same room as the Tivos I purchased MoCA adapters to create the network so I can stream between Tivos. I installed one MoCA adapter by the router, and another one at the first Tivo box in the family room (all Tivos are 2 tuners and have no built in MoCA, hence the adapters) and this is how I have it set up:
Wall - POE - 2 way splitter. One tail to MoCA, other to TV (for PIP). Coax out from MoCA into TA, and then out of TA into Tivo. There is also an ethernet cable from the MoCA adapter into the Tivo (to provide the internet) and a USB out from the TA to the Tivo. The MoCA adapter shows that it is receiving the internet signal but the Tivo doesn't recognize the network, no matter if I try to set a Static IP address or use the DHCP service.
Anyone out there have a similar set up and can tell me what I did wrong? Doesn't have to be a Tivo specifically - perhaps someone has a similar setup with a HTPC? Just can't figure it out.
Also, off-topic - anyone lose their plus pack channels lately? I haven't been able to receive my premium channels (Starz) or the DIY network in HD for two weeks - this happened around the same time my Tivo updated, so perhaps it is a software issue, but that is something else I'm fighting with.
