Amazon authorized reseller of LG again? 55LM7600 seems to be sold by Amazon $1464 (11-Dec-12)

I'm wondering what's going on here.

Maybe they're authorized for y2012 models now that CES-2013 is around the corner?

FWIW, as of this post (11-Dec-12), BB and Sears are hovering around $1599, when they were both recently $1699.

Unless it's because of a sell-off of already established inventory, how on earth can this be so? I had thought that this was the very reason that they were not selling them to date (as verified by them to AVS members already). Further, how can they purchase them at wholesale prices from LG if NOT an authorized reseller?

They could be purchasing through a distributor. Amazon is currently selling the Sharp 90LE745 as well, even though they are not an authorized Sharp dealer.

Yeah, that makes sense. Their price isn't that stellar, so a middleman is possible. Sorry, I can't quite think straight----Newtown rattled me something fierce today.

For what it's worth, I emailed LG customer support, and they said Amazon is an authorized retailer in regards to the 7600.

LM7600 had a lot of quality issues (the infamous flashlighting/clouding, for example) so Amazon stopped selling them. Now that the quality has gotten better Amazon is selling them again.
