jittery view of panoramic scene on blu ray

I'm really not sure which forum section should I post to. So please point me to the correct one.
The problem: yesterday I finally watched Blu-Ray (MIP: the Ghost Protocol) on my new P50ST50. Configuration is following: player (Sony S590) -> receiver (Denon 1612) -> TV.
Everything looked Ok, with the exception of the following scene: bird view panorama of Moscow Kremlin, camera flies over it. The thing it, all those kremlin towers moved discretely, not really smooth, like in tiny jumps. Especially noticeable when looking at domes at the sky's background.
Is it normal?

Do you have motion smoother on in the advanced menu ? Try turning to low or off see if that helps.

Yeah ,turn the motion smoother completely off

I use low on my ST30 because it affects the moving lines of resolution but don't think that applys to the 2012s.

I think motion smoother is OFF, but I'll double-check when get back home. I'm quite sure I switched it OFF the very first day, since immediately noticed SOE with it.

Found this in another thread might help you:

For 24p, there's essentially 3 options on the ST50:
1. Output 24p and set the ST50 to 48Hz
2. Output 24p and set the ST50 to 60Hz
3. Output 60Hz
Option #1 has no converting, just frame doubling; however it has significant flicker due to the low refresh rate. Option #2 forces the ST50 to convert 24p to 60Hz and is smooth like 48Hz, but it has some minor artifacts on bright objects panning across the screen. Option #3 forces the player to convert 24p to 60Hz, and there aren't any noticeable artifacts, but it has the most judder. Personally, I use option 2.
To switch between 60Hz and 48Hz, you need to feed the ST50 a 24p source, then in the picture menu, there's a '24p direct-in' setting.

Well, it leads me to another, more general Q: if it all goes down to repeating a single frame N times, is 24 fps - even in the best case of each frame being repeated equal number of times - really enough for smooth panning across the screen? Maybe what I see is just those generic 24 frames... Or I'm lying to myself and it can't be noticed?
