AVR-2113ci Zone 2 Question

I just bought a Denon AVR-2113ci and I am having problems getting Zone 2 to work. I have the Zone 2 outputs hooked to an external amp via the RCA outputs.

Using both the free and the pay Denon apps for iPhone, when I turn on Zone 2 and set the source to Internet Radio, the volume sticks at "40" and blasts the speakers. I cannot turn the volume down with the app or on the Denon remote.

I went into the audio setup and it shows Zone 2 greyed out.

What am I missing? How do I adjust the volume on Zone 2? DId I miss something in the setup?

I guess I have to say that is disappointing. I wish Denon had made that more clear in the spec sheet. Now I am stuck with a fixed volume Zone 2 or No 7.1 speakers!

Any suggestions for a cheap external amp with a remote controlled volume control?
