Please join and post what speakers you don't have..

As the "please join and post what speakers you have" reaches near a million hits, I thought it would be nice for anyone wishing to upgrade to something that will bring them and others more pleasure, to announce their current plan or dream to make the experience come true. Mine is simply to sell off a bunch of gear and purchase a pair of Magneplanar 1.7's, even if I have to sell off my whole 5.1 spkr pkg and go with stereo for a while (although I love the ambience my surrounds produce with music) . Let us know what your plans are.

I envy the entire B&W thread. frown.gif How can there be this many 800 series owners in one place? While we're delving into dream territory, power them all with mac amps. I'm sure there are at least a few owners who post here and already have this. I'm coming to your house. wink.gif

The new B&W speakers are.... well I think about the recording process, then you see what looks like a microphone placed on top of the spkr....it's like sending the original recording in reverse from mic on to the tweeter, which looks like a mic.

I would like to upgrade to Salk SoundScape 8's or a pair of used Revel Ultima Salon2's (I won't pay for a new pair - too much money). If I ever acquire one of those speakers I'd probably be done for good...maybe...probably...we'll see. biggrin.gif

Nuance, "I'd probably be done for good"...does that mean be done for good with the wife:D, or simply that you would never see the need for a future upgrade?

I hope to upgrade from my 10 year old Quad L22 + CC to Klipsch's RC-64 II, RS-52 II and RF-7 II. Probably an overkill but I keep my equipment for 10+ years.

LOL - you bring up a good point. She would not be happy if I told her I'd be spending $10,000+ on speakers, that's for sure. But she'd still keep me around. smile.gif I did mean I'd see no need for a future speaker upgrade if I owned one of those two speakers.

I just picked up a used Klipsch RC-62 I. It will be a close match to my old pair of Klipsch Chorus speakers...horn mid-range and tweeters for left, center, and right. I'll be selling them to a friend. I unplugged my center channel Definitive Technology CLR 2500, hooked up the RC-62 I and played a Dylan song from his new "Tempest" album. Man the vocals sounded fantastic coming from the RC-62 I. I can only imagine what the RC-64 II will sound like.

Hope to one day score a pair of DCM Time Window 7s for my fronts, move my Time Window 3s to the rear...maybe use the CX-17 bookshelves (rear) for the sides, and score another sub for a 7:2. Bonus...no more wife to tell me "no!" biggrin.gif

I had the pleasure of listening to a pair of DCM Time Windows back around 1980. I remember a thick dark curtain along the rear wall and the speakers were pulled out from the rear wall about 15 feet. I don't remember the model but they were amazing. I later (around 1993) purchased a pair of 600's, also a nice sounding spkr....sold them to my son in law so I get to see them often.

Anything Steve Eberlach had a a hand in making were wonderful sounding. I'm finding more and more people on this forum going back to old school speakers for their home theater set-ups. I remember when I purchased my TW 3s at Circuit City back in '92 that the owner of another electronic store (who I knew well) tried to get me to purchase a pair of Klipsch. I went with the TW3s and the other owner, to this day, hasn't forgiven me.
