Audio Out from Samsung TV to AVR using HDMI

Hi All

I am struggling to setup the audio out from my Samsung UE37ES67 to my Onkyo NR414 AVR.

I did not put an optical cable behind the walls so I would like to be able to do this vias HDMI. From what I have read it would appear possible by connecting the HDMI lead to the port 2 which is also the ARC port. I have therefore connected the TV from the HDMI 2 port to the Port 6 on my Receiver which I have setup to be TV.

The main reason for me needing to do this is so that I can listen to the interactice services on the TV via the surround setup.

Is this even possible and if so what am I doing wrong?!

Any idea why I can only change the sound settings on the amp and not via the remote whilst on TV mode?

No probs - thanks all the same. It's strange as I can change the settings on both the front panel and via the iphone app but not from the onkyo remote itself!
