34xbr960 streaking problem...

it seems that red and blue streak in light scenes...and always off to the right. Sometimes creating a double image, almost.

green seems to streak in very dark scenes...this is less of an issue, but only really noticeable when I put up the menu.]]

Anyone seen this or have an idea about it?

a few other notes...the tv really needs to warm up...even for resolution. If I put a resolution pattern up it won't really resolve, but if the tv is on for a while, it will resolve after time.

Also, when first powering on, it looks for a few seconds that the brightness control is cranked...but then adjusts itself.

I'm thinking capacitors on some board....but which one? focus? deflection? Any thoughts?

how long have you owned the 960?
has the tv ever been calibrated?

actually, that's a misprint...it's a 910.

I just got if for free...i was hoping to salvage it. This is not something that would be cured by calibration though...

Think about stepping up to a 960 or 970.

Yeah that's the convergence. I think it can be fixed.

Don't charge blindly into the service menu as doing so can wreck the TV. Don't change anything without first understanding what you're doign and writing down the original setting. Don't reset to "factory defaults" or the TV will be just about bricked.

That's normal, don't worry about it.
