What compares to the Bose wave radios?

In not a big fan of Bose but for the average person it works. I'm trying to help my mother in law pick out something for her husbands office. He loves music and has lots of cd's and an iPod. She asked me about the Bose radio and I said there's other things oh there im sure that are better for the price. Plus you have to spend extra for the CD player? Screw that

I was thinking something from Polk or Cambridge. Anyone have any opinions? I never looked for one so I have to admit this ist my area of expertise.

Needs to have a CD player, iPod dock or plug in, great sound and maybe satellite or am/fm for an added bonus

Lets keep it around the $500 price range of the Bose

At one time, Polk and Cambridge built a few radios that could compete w/ the mighty Bose. Sadly, those times hav e past now.
Bose it the heavy weight champ in this segment of the market, nothing else comes close.

The Onkyo CS-445 System is $306 at Amazon and will blow away the Bose systems; much better-sounding.

It has a CD player/ AM-FM Receiver with Ipod / Iphone dock and separate speakers, and a subwoofer preout in case you wanted to add one.
