How can I stream Amazon Prime VOD in 1080p and 5.1?

I'm aware that Hulu and/or Vudu are fine, but I have a large Amazon VOD Library and lots of freebies as a Prime member. My BD player only supports Netflix, Vudu and something called "FilmFresh(?)"

My router is close enough to be hardwired to my periphials, but I don't know much about HTPC. Could I possibly run direct from my PC or the external hard drive, or is there another way I'm missing? If I need a set-top box of some kind, such as Roku, etc. - which, if any - would run the Amazon in 1080p and 5.1? FWIW - I don't play any video games, so Playstation is not an option unless as a last resort.

My equipment is as follows:

Panasonic PT AE-7000 projector
Pioneer VSX-60 AVR
Oppo BD-103
Netgear N750 WNDR4000 dual-band router

My laptop is a current, loaded up HP, and as I said - anything can easily be hard-wired to the router.

Any help or links would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

if your laptop has an HDMI out on it you can just plug that straight into your projector or receiver and get a little wireless keyboard/trackpad remote like this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003UE52ME/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00

I have one of these and have a desktop computer hooked directly up to my TV. it works great.

Also, for Amazon VOD on PC, the plugin for XBMC works very well. This allows you to browse, search and play with a remote control rather than a KB/mouse and is free!

Amazon Vod Streams, including prime are 720p

Tivo will play back amazon vod content in 1080p/24 (no prime) but it must download to the device first.
