2013 Formula 1 in HD - Page 40

Especially since they told him no last year when he wanted to go Rally. I'm not sure how Lotus will feel about it considering this from the article last year:

"The newspaper added that 'Raikkonen's contract forbids him from taking part in similar extra-curricular activities.'

I'm not sure if his contract changed this year, but I highly doubt it.

The new "Rush" trailer was released today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9igiKOCh5Wg&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I am very much looking forward to seeing this film. Ron Howard tweeted extensively last year while doing principle photography, and the collection of vintage F1 cars used for the film was/is amazing.

There were some stills out there from last year of the girls. Lets just say a few minutes on google image search would not be a waste of time. :-)

By the time I got to dating age, mini skirts, hot pants, and go-go boots had been replaced by midi and maxi dresses and gaucho pants. I felt royally screwed. :-)

I will probably buy that as well. I have a pretty nice HT system but I like the public movie theater experience for some movies.

Hey we agree on something finally, I too will have to see this in the theater when released! I will buy the Blu-ray also. I guess sometimes it pays to be over 50 and remember the races when they first occurred?

Not to mention the meditations and the preparations smile.gif

Olivia Wilde and Lady Margaery with fur, headbands, and short shorts.

Putting out fire with gasoline.

Not a fan of Olivia.

From a few pages back. I know people like to knock Schumi for some of his tactics and rightfully so. Does Senna get the same scorn? Personally I think Senna was one of the greatest drivers, but he should get significantly knocked for ushering in the era of pass or crash.

The real reason for my post is to make the FERRARI fans jealous. I had to go over to the beach today. Avi of Luxury Royal Detailing was working on four Ferraris. I think another one drove up as I was leaving.biggrin.gif

Those cars were horrible to drive....they wouldn't stop or steer or have anything remotely resembling traction.
Do you watch "R U Faster than a redneck?" tongue.gif That's all that happens, just try to hold the line in your tuner car and wait for the muscle car to spin out.

With Red Bull originally saying the team orders for Webber to slow down was due to the tires, now i read where he was having low fuel problems, as were the Mercedes cars. Here is a quote:

"Apparently in the first 42 laps Webber had consumed clearly more fuel than Vettel and was already in the red.

"Vettel was also able to drive in (Webber's) slipstream for 12 laps and use DRS.

"So Red Bull not only feared an accident, but also that Webber could run out of gas. So he was asked to turn down his performance just to get to the line."
Maybe the team is still researching the reason that they told Webber to slow down. Its complicated y'know. rolleyes.gif

Just got a chance to see the Qatar race. The way you guys were hollering Valentino! And Rossis back I figured he won. I was surprised to see Lorenzo win. Great battle between Rossi and Marquez for 2nd though. My boy Nicky Hayden came in 8th. I always root for him not only because hes American but he grew up very close to where I did in Kentucky.
Let the hillbilly jokes commence....rolleyes.gif

There was a little short back in '85, about 20 minutes long, titled "Niki Lauda explains Formula One" that ESPN used to run as occasional filler during its early days. I recorded it on my first Betamax and kept it for years. Reason I loved it so much was the "ordinary" car that was used to demonstrate just how much faster Formula cars were than even production supercars was my ride at the time, a Porsche 928. Enjoy!

Just watched the new Rush trailer and thought it was fascinating. Thanks for the link! I'll be there on opening day. The Lauda Hunt story is a fascinating one and nobody does biopics as well as Ron Howard. I think highly of both Chris Hemsworth, who plays James Hunt, and Daniel Brühl, of Inglourious Basterds fame who plays Nikki Lauda, and believe they are well cast. Hunt had so many wrecks he got the nickname, "Hunt the shunt."smile.gif I am really looking forward to this one. Hope I don't end up being disappointed.
