Remember, Alonso already complained about too many races, he would like 19 or less because its rough. Perhaps he is having physical problems we dont know about, or maybe he is drained mentally from trying so hard in a lessor car last year.

He has been talking to the press a lot during the off-season, so I don't think he is having physical problems.

My guess is he asked or was simply given (for a job well done) extra time off so he could pursue his "cognac and supermodel" collecting.tongue.gif

I did DVR yesterday's action, hoping to see some of the GT action.
As to be expected, the Speed coverage focused almost exclusively on the "proto-guppies."rolleyes.gif

No, it's great. We go to races together. I get to attend Sebring with my best friend and she loves it just as much as I do. Hell, sometime she's the one who straightens me out with what's going on with teams, drivers, cars, etc. And if I have too much camera gear, she's happy to help carry it so I don't break anything. What more could I ask for? Most of the friends we have made at races is due to her, she is so friendly and social.

I watched all of the Speed Channel broadcast and....friggin' loved it.

Heck, I was on the edge of my seat for the last hour with the DP race....redface.gif

Having driven a 458, I was really pulling for the Italian marquee.
Unfortunately, Ferrari made one too many mistakes (thou shall NOT crash into a red car).
Oh well, that's racing.

Some great off season (for F-1) action. Check out the 2012 BTCC (British Touring Car Championship) series being shown on Speed Channel. Great wheel to wheel (fender to fender:D) competition.

BTCC has always been a favorite of ours. It's what NASCAR should really be like. The cars race closely and are not afraid to trade paint and push each other around.

Sound of the best car control I have witnessed has been in these races.

Too slow, too ugly, too much like my sister's car.

Have been following DTM.
It is what NASCAR should be: road courses, no ovals, sexy cars.

Also been following FIA GT1.
Although the racing action isn't as good as DTM, it's still great to see proper GT cars running around a track.

You should try to get beyond that. You are missing some of the best racing on the planet. If I ever visit England, it's a BTCC race weekend I would look to attend.
