WRC is awesome. It was great when Speed used to televise it and Nicky Grist (Colin McRae's former co-driver) provided color commentary.

That certainly redefines "riding mower".

This is really not that unusual for Rally. I've seen Seb Loeb barrel roll his car (as has every WRC driver who wants to win). No one ever said he should end his career as result.

You guys had to have seen that rally race car that went down that hill and barrel rolled about 20 times a while back. Those guys got out and walked away.

I'm positive that he was being facetious with his comment.

And the hand wringing resumes...

"“We will finally have testing again and not a farce like what we saw this year with one team doing illegal testing, without even paying the right penalty for it,” Montezemolo said. “In this case, I would have expected more clarity and courage from the FIA."

Mercedes form since Pirelli test damages F1 Credibility

Copied from Merriam Webster

Definition of FACETIOUS
1
: joking or jesting often inappropriately : waggish
2
: meant to be humorous or funny : not serious

Kind of like...

“Tragedy is when I cut my finger. Comedy is when you fall into an open sewer and die.”
Mel Brooks

I posted this already but got no response and wanted to make sure everyone is aware.
Mercedes was not allowed in the young drivers test BUT Pirelli provided them with ALL data collected from the tests.

I would have expected that.

Even though that's not exactly fair play, over time it seems that each team gets some sort of break on one thing or another, At least I don't get any overwhelming sense of favoritism.

Funny how we didn't hear a complaint from him when Ferrari were competitive? Ferrari seem to hate it when they have to put in a bit extra work in order to once again win the championship. Luca must not recall the Schumacher, Barrichello embarrassment that they caused with "team orders".

I was trying to make a point R.K.'s F1 career is probably over.
He was an excellent and exciting driver, could have been World Champion.

Would someone explain to the NBCSN commentators that If on a Spring day the outdoor temperature is 10C then that's 50F outside.
But a 10 degree 'C' reduction in tire temperature is just 18 degree 'F'.

I won't argue against that.

I'm on the horn with Hobbs right now, I'll let him know.

I am sure they know that. Well, at least Matchet should know, being that he is a technical guy.

Being a temperature control guy myself that has worked on overseas projects, it really jumped out at me when they said it, but in the heat of a live broadcast, I will grant them the occasional gaff.

There is an Italian named Luca Filippi driving as a rookie in the IndyCar race at MidOhio that came from GP2. He did well there apparently. It will be interesting to follow his progress.
Is this his first race?

Not sure but I think so. I thought they said he was supposed to race at Indianapolis and finish the rest of the season with them but it hasnt worked out that way. I think he is going to finish the rest of the season now though. They only mentioned him briefly and Im actually watching the race now.
Charlie Kimball wins at MidOhio. Great race. NO cautions and a lot of different pit strategies kept it interesting.
Filippi started 24th and finished 16th. Pretty good for a rookie. He actually would have started much higher up but crashed in quali and lost his lap times.

Off to the Grand Prix of Sonoma next. The same weekend as Belgium.

Weird, my directv autorecord for "formula one" picked up the Indy car race and qualifying. Never did that before - I wonder if it's NBCS messing with something smile.gif I'll check for Sonoma later.

My wife and I were wondering how the hell our DVR picked up all this IndyCar race stuff. Each of us thought the other programmed it.
You should both just throw those crappy DVRs in the garbage. Now theyre contaminated.

They are being disinfected with F1, WRC, and ALMS.

Mine (DirecTV) did that as well, but since I frequently review the "To Do" list to purge unwanted/unexpected programming, I nuked it all before it was recorded.

Does that mean I acted before serious infection? :-)
