I think his best fit would be Mclaren or Mercedes, but no one is talking about that. He's as fast as Rosberg but brings massive consistency to the table.

I'm concerned that because Lotus isn't quite a top team, they will be a little more behind in the first year of the big rule changes.

How long is Perez' contract? I could see Kimi going back to McLaren. He was awesome there and I bet he and Button would team pretty well.

Three years. Although we all know that F1 contracts are as solid as water. Nevermind the racing, just think what it would do for their "Tooned" series wink.gif

McLaren would have to pay Kimi big $$$, while Perez comes with big-time sponsorship.

BTW, looks RBR is going to take their time on Webber's replacement after all.

It was reported earlier reported Kimi and Alonso was out and Riccairdo was in.
Maybe RBR wants to continue to shake Ferrari's tree.biggrin.gif

Perez comes with big-time sponsorship, but Kimi would also draw big-time sponsorship due to his skill, popularity and the fact he is a WDC.

Maybe Kimi stays with Lotus,he has already done "the Ferrari thing",and the car is good. The unknown is who will have the better car with the new regs.and motor.

Yeah, as long as he keeps his big mouth shut. Above all, Ferrari doesn't put up with disrespecting the brand.

Its just not smart to be doggin the team you drive for. Ferrari just takes it a little more personal.

Kimi has no choice now. Ferrari wont take him back. They paid him a year to sit out he pissed them off so bad. Who even started the McLaren rumor?
And I couldnt agree more with your last sentence.

Good point.
Kimi is one of the most popular drivers in the series.

My guess is next year's Lotus won't be as competitive as this years.
They just don't have the budget to pour into something completely new like MB, RBR, Ferrari, or McLaren.

Reading that makes it sound like Kimi is preferred over D.R.
And RB has the $$$ to get him, if they so choose.

Of course. Kimi probably isnt real concerned about the money but it helps. Especially this late in his career. And I cant imagine that he thinks the Lotus will be superior. So...will RB tolerate Kimi? Depends on how well his agent begs.
