Thats exactly why I love the streaming practices. No commentary. It makes you feel more like you are there. Especially in the pits.

that would be rather cool... the third track that is... not diffey... frown.gif

taking that a bit further, a friend of mine and i were bs'ing awhile back, and we thought it would be a good idea if we could buy a bluray after each race that contained the race long in-car car shot from each car... i'd buy it, just to see what grosjean thinks he sees... tongue.gif a bonus track on each disk would be called "stupid massa tricks", where all the "not so smart moves" drivers made over the weekend were strung together in a montage...

as noted, i would totally buy this... it would make winter go by a lot faster, that's for sure...

kinda like the old days, where you could buy "race highlights" lp's, except modernized...

as long as i'm wishing for a pony, i'd like them to put timing and scoring on a server somewhere so that those of us who watch the races on a dvr could time shift that as well...

I think if you buy the overpriced android/iphone app, you can 'start' the telemetry whenever. I just always figured I'd find out who won by opening the app, so I never bought it.

Well, 2012 is only $9 now that the season is over, normally it's like $30-40.

There may be only 19 races in 2013. New Jersey is out (that sucks) and they are trying to replace it with Turkey. At this point they are saying NJ has been postponed until 2014. Grosjean is being replaced with David Valsecchi, the 2012 GP2 champion (that doesn't suck).

Not according to James Allen.

There is a report MS isn't interested in the Mercedes job:

I saw it on the ticker at the bottome of the screen on Speedcenter Sunday. I would say that your source is correct.

Pretty decent little documentary on Velocity right now, and repeating 1AM EST tonight on Group B rallying. Lots of good archival footage of the cars and interviews with several drivers and such. Vatanen, Rohrl, Blomqvist ...
I'm not real big into rallying but I definitely admire those guys skill and courage. I think some of them must have a screw loose. Speaking of a screw loose, I love that Isle of Man TT stuff. Pure insanity!

I'll bet Kubica has a different attitude now....wink.gif

Raikkonen made it through alright. I like him but sometimes wonder if he is also certifiable.

And it's great.
At least there is one F1 driver willing to say/do whatever he feels like...wink.gif

It keeps it interesting but I've heard him say some pretty rude stuff.

NBCSports just tweeted that the full F1 team will be Matchett, Diffey, Hobbs, and ...........BUXTON!

I will miss Bob, but this will work for me.

Thanks for the report! It's great news that Buxton is going to be a member of the new NBC F1 TV team. I love the guy!

Good news. Now, let's hope NBC will spare us all the endless snipes, sports scrolls and commercials every 4 minutes like they do with all their other programming.

I didnt think their IndyCar coverage was that bad last year. I prefer Speed.

If they do the side by side split screen during commercials for F1 like they do with Indy, that would be great. OTOH, the way they do the race info on the top of the screen blocks off too much of the action. OTOH, there are the endless snipes and overabundant commercials. mad.gif

Luckily, the on-screen graphics are handled by FOM for F1, so NBC shouldn't be able to mess it up too much.

It took me a week, but they relented.

Unless F1 forces them to use their graphics, I've found that NBCSN Americanizes (dumbs down) graphics when they rebroadcast European sports. They usually remove the concise graphics that are provided from the original feed and add stupid crap like crawls on the bottom of the screen that add nothing and waste space. Their Tour De France coverage is notorious for this but I've also seen it on some of their other programming. We're gong to have to wait to see if they pull any stunts with F1, but I've hated NBCSN for so long I'm dreading to see what they will screw up. And they will screw something up.

I have said before that I don't believe that Vettel will ever be in the red car as long as Alonso is still with Ferrari, so I would actually take Montezemolo at his word on this one (a rare occurrence, to be sure!).

But having said that, I would not mind seeing Alonso in an Adrian Newey designed car, no matter what color it is. In other words, I would love to see he and Vettel swap their present seats. Of course, who knows what the balance of power will be like in 2013, but only a fool would bet against a Newey car. That man could surely write his own ticket if he wanted to jump to Ferrari.

This talk reminds me of the Senna/Prost days. I would love to see them both at Ferrari. Newey is a beast. Wasn't he working for Williams back then?

I would rather see them in the SAME car.
It would settle the debate of who is better.wink.gif

Apparently, he has turned them down before.
IIRC, his family didn't want to live in Italy.
