But IIRC, the missus put the kibash on the idea.wink.gif

Dispite the camo, this car is going to look a lot like the street car (only a bit wider and lower).

That's that.

The big question now is whether Kimi goes to Ferrari or not.....

Nah, they can't be too sure of themselves over there, can they? wink.gif

Just think how an Alonso/Kimi team would guarantee another championship for Vettel. eek.gif

A little more detail.
He called RB "arguably the best team". I bet he doesnt get any points there for that.

As ugly as most of the race at Baltimore was, the last 9 laps were awesome. Some of the best racing Ive seen this year.

Luca wants to win a championship....EVERY YEAR.
The guy is one of the most driven execs in the business.
Second place is failure...and Ferrari will not, MUST NOT fail.
Nobody believes this more than him.

The Man has stated before: DC is fine, but the Constructers Championship is what REALLY counts as far as he is concerned.
"Drivers come and go, but Ferrari remains."

Right now, the RB car is the cream of the crop....there is no debate.
MB has made leaps and bounds this year and for the last couple of years, have been hiring top talent away from top teams.
McLaren will bounce back and next year will probably have more success on track.
Lotus lacks funds, however, they have considerable design/technical talent.

All things considered, there is absolutely no reason to think Ferrari's 2014 design will bring Luca his championship.
Ferrari has there work cut out for them and I don't see them improving their place in the standings, at least as things stand right now.
There is, however, one thing they can do to improve their chances for next year's title: hire Kimi.
This will give them, indisputably, THE best pair of drivers on the grid.
And unlike the uncertainty of next year's car, there is real certainty of Alonso and Kimi's driving skills.wink.gif

Good to see Ricciardo go to Red Bull, it makes Toro Rosso worth something.

As to the tires, i hate the drivers having to go slow to save tires, i really wish they could make tires that the drivers could go flat out on the whole race since this is F1, the most sophisticated cars in the world, and they should be able to be driven to their ultimate, not driven slowly for half the race due to worrying about the damn tires. If they cant make the tires that good, then mandate 3 tire stops for everyone. Take the tire strategy out of racing and put the excitement back on the track.

What you are saying makes sense on a lot of levels, however, IMO we would miss a lot of great racing with super tires or spec pit stops. Look at the way RAI can squeak out more laps on tires and turn it into an advantage. That is a real racing skill. Go back when Berger was Sennas teammate. Berger was very fast for a while and challenged Senna for a lot of poles. During the races, Sennas superior feel and skill became apparent as Berger ground his tires into marbles and Senna finished most races well ahead of Gerhard.

To me, these skills help separate the great from the good.

I have mixed feelings on the tire issue myself.
Tack has a good point for a change. biggrin.gif It also helps mix things up when a particular team has an obviously superior car. Ala Red Bull.

Agreed.

My only complaint about having tires wear quickly is the klag left on the course.
This narrows the track and makes passing almost impossible late in races.
If there was some way to fix that it would change the face of F1 racing.wink.gif

Season premiere of the American Top Gear tonight at 9p EST on the History Channel. They are supposed to be racing 2 new supercars across the USA.

Wow! It was certainly the proper thing to say but I doubt even Cristina really believes it.

LOL!!!

Actually, I did not mean to type Cristina....was a spell check thing. But on second thought, it does go nicely with Sebrina. :-)

Maybe Luca is the only one who hasn't noticed. They aren't winning any CC championships lately. smile.gif

You maybe right about Kimi, and I love the idea. OTOH, I've found when there's too many #1's, the drama outweighs the results.

2008 wasnt that long ago. Only Brawn and Red Bull have won since.

LOL...more like a slot machine!

New Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo will be expected to be putting the pressure on team-mate Sebastian Vettel by the middle of the season.

It will never happen, but can you imagine if DR actually started getting equal or better results than Vettel? Now that would be some entertainment!

I would totally flip out. But Mark Webber is certainly no slouch besides his crappy starts. So, as you said, thats not gonna happen.
