I have indeed said to some friends that had these guys been terrorists, it could have been a very, very bad day. I recall reading a scathing article in Autoweek back when F1 ran at Indy that security there was ridiculously tight. Even Mary Hullman, who at the time was, I think, chairwoman of IMS, was harassed at one point. But I guess Bernie's thugs are only good at being pricks to the fans and other paying customers (Buxton has made the same comment). When they are faced with a real security threat, even from a bunch of well coordinated tree huggers that want to hang some banners, they have nothing. I bet it will not be pleasant for fans at F1 races for the foreseeable future.
I've noticed that too, "security" is all about looking tough and they can crack down on petty things but when something actually does go down what the hell??? It takes forever to respond and cops are too scared to do anything about it. I wonder how that would have gone down in the USA.

And who decided to have train tracks on a race course? Of course there was a nasty pile up right around there in ALMS.
Fox Sports really screwed the pooch with its labeling and scheduling of MotoGP!
Everyone is gung-ho taking away Grannies fireworks, giving her a speeding ticket and patting her down for drugs but take an hour to enter a school where there's a gunman opening up
Don't get me started on the places that "search" people but never even use metal detectors...but now i'm just rambling
