For motion video like sports, 720p is preferable to 1080i.
No difference. Both have 60 images per second. It only matters when you want to upload to YouTube or watch on a player that cannot deinterlace.

Case in point: Top Gear. Their studio part is 25i, while story videos are 25p. When re-encoded to 720p25 the studio part looks less live and more choppy and resolution drops in half, while the stories look the same. If BBC adopted 720p, then instead of broadcasting 25p within 25i as 25PsF they would simply broadcast 50p with frame-repeat flag for 25p segments. Much simpler IMHO. And no need for deinterlacer to figure out whether it is native 25i or 25PsF.

That would be great if they can pull it off. I know they had financial problems, and then when Hurricane Sandy hit the northeast i figured that was really the kiss of death for this race. I still wonder if 2014 is obtainable, maybe 2015, but i would really like to see this get done. Think of the incredible views of Manhattan across the water from the race!!!!

Come on NBC, errrrr, Comcast...don't screw this up!

While we're still waiting for the new season to start, I wanted to share this monster with you guys - 0-100km/h in 2.8 secs! And too bad all 3 models built have already been sold biggrin.gif

Morpheo, thanks for the video. Lambo sure pulled out all the wild styling tricks to make this outrageous. For me, i still love the Countach best, it was the original great different supercar design, and still looks modern today.

The car is based on the Avendator:

The Porsche 911 started life way back in 1963. Take that Lamborghini! smile.gif

And the 911 looks like it too. smile.gif That was my point.

This is still the only car that ever made me drool. Coming up on 50th anniversary!

Read about this particular car here if you like. This is something I'd be likely to spend money on if the lottery cooperated.

I think the 911 is a great looking car. Iconic looks ahead of its time, with one of the richest racing heritage of any car on the planet. I'd say it's a hard act to follow. For $100K it's on my very short list of cars to get.

The racing heritage is unquestionable. Without it, I doubt many people would buy it on its looks. But style is a very personal thing.

I gotta disagree with you on the looks. I love it and most people I know personally love it too.
Ditto for the Cayman too. I think that's a new classic in the making.

It is pretty but not in my top 10. Im not crazy about cars that old. I read an interview with Enzo Ferrari one time and was shocked that he said the E-Type was the most beautiful car ever made. The original Ferrari GTO looks similar and I think its better looking.

The muira and the jag are definitely 2 of the most beautiful cars ever released to the public.

Nonetheless, I certainly wouldn't want to make one of 'em a daily driver today.
As gorgeous as they are, they are primitive and crude from a driving POV when compared to today's exotics.

I agree. Not my favorite by far but a great looking car. I thought the same thing about Enzo's opinion. Hats off to the guy for giving another company props though.

Your 288 link is the same as the GTO one. You have some good taste sir! The 288 is definitely up there.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but it is very encouraging that the car is responding to parts like it is supposed to this year. The whole wind tunnel debacle last year really shot Ferrari in the foot. That combined with bad luck (2 DNFs that were caused by others) really sucked for Alonso. He seems to be really pumped and ready and the car seems to be pretty good. I can't wait for Thursday. The season is finally here!

Forza Ferrari!

Unless something has recently surpassed it an original GTO was the most expensive car ever sold at auction. $25,000,000 eek.gif

I think Pininfarina is responsible for some of the best car designs ever.

+1 For sure. With Giugiaro and Bertone. Those 3 have designed nearly every car that would be considered an exotic collectible. Leave the stylin' to the Italian! smile.gif

NO car company has had more beautifully designed cars than Ferrari.
Others have designed great ones too, but Maranello has had many more.

Amazing that the Countach was designed so long ago. As to Porsche, i have never been a fan of their designs.
