Between this and Venezuelas free fall economy, I wouldn't be surprised if Maldo falls off the map forever. I don't think F1 teams employ him primarily for his driving prowess.

Cant see it being anyone else because, unless Johnny Cecotto came out of retirement, there isn't a long list of Venezuelan hot-shoes.

His son is giving it a go inGP2.Don't think he's worth much yet.

My DVR wasn't able to "see" the broadcast.frown.gif
Fortunately, I was able to record some of it.
Thanx for the heads-up, Steve.smile.gif

I don't think so neither.

Maldo is good, but he often makes some questionable decisions on-track....and we know his fellow drivers don't have kind thoughts of him.wink.gif

Maldonado is a turd. I could care less if he stays or goes. Hopefully Conor Daly will replace him. Or Alexander Rossi.

I was digging around a little at that NYT website and came across this old article about Prost. It was written in '87, kind of like peeking in a time capsule.

Some good descriptions of driving the Turbos and some good quotes like : ''I am a believer, but I start each Grand Prix with 195 liters of fuel behind me,'' he explains. ''I don't rely entirely on God, I rely on Prost.'' smile.gif

Funny how the Prost-Senna era could be seen as so similar to the Lauda-Hunt times... Good memories! Even if I was just a kid when my father watched F1 during the 70s... (I was rooting for Prost in the 80s by the way, and I 'm french too, so, you know...) smile.gif

2 great rivalries for sure. The biggest diffrence though is that Hunt and Lauda were never teammates. Probably a good thing. smile.gif

I was always a Prost fan, what a fun time it was when he had the rivalry with Senna, and they would knock each other out!!

Lol, that was classic. I want to rip the audio and overlay it on almost anything. A chess game or some clips of a UPS driver making deliveries come to mind. smile.gif

Ahh, the days when drivers were fat and tires were skinny.
