Is there an echo in here? tongue.gif

Kimi to Ferrari definitely has the potential for fireworks. I'm sure all of the non-Ferrari fans would love that. Hopefully Alonso and Ferrari sort their differences before next season, because if they don't, Alonso will self destruct. I'm hoping he has grown out of that, but we will see.

I thought that Hobbs and Buxton mentioned something during qualy and again at the start of the actual race that there would/or shouldn't be any tolerance for going four wheels off, since it was happening with such regularity.

I still don't understand how it isn't viewed as corner cutting. Per FIA rules;

20.2
  • Drivers must use the track at all times. For the avoidance of doubt the white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not.
  • A driver will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with the track.
  • Should a car leave the track the driver may rejoin, however, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any advantage.
  • A driver may not deliberately leave the track without justifiable reason.

Anyway, not like it'll change anything. smile.gif

I think they just said that they shouldnt be allowed. I remember Hobbs specifically pointed out that Ricciardo just got a penalty for it at the last track.
It seems that they let them as long as they didnt gain any advantage. Such as during a pass.

Finally watched Rush yesterday - an OK movie, nothing more. At least not as bad as the Stallone's "Driven".

I was a bit surprised that the fictionalized Hunt/Lauda story produced more modest emotional effect on me than "Senna", which was made completely of TV/documentary pieces. Also, with "Senna" I was glued to the screen every second, with "Rush" there were lapses I was yawning and counting minutes to the end titles. Could be easily cut down to 90 minutes or so.

Speaking of F1 movies, the Formula One documentary "1" is out and looks to be good. Not sure on how to see it yet, but hopefully it'll get a DVD release.

Guess I'm being a stickler since putting all 4 wheels off to gain time on a lap to me would be considered an advantage, since you're going faster than the track was designed to let you go.

This is a great interview with Sebastian Vettel. I have actually gained some respect for the man.

You are watching two different types of presentations. Senna is an excellent documentary with actual footage and interviews of the drivers. Rush is a drama about two drivers (before Senna) that raced F-1. It's only one year that is covered in the movie. The dialogue in the movie took time to set up everything so it's going to be a bit slower paced. Since you made the comparison how about Niki Lauda's opinion on Rush.

I am afraid I missed India, but I did get a chuckle out of this new item:

Kudos to Lotus…..this is much better than "Filipe, Fernando is faster than you. Please confirm that you understood the message".

Note that Lotus did not have to ask Kimi if he understood the message. I have to say that I am down with the idea of clear, concise, unambiguous radio messages. Even more so when they involve proper usage of the word f*ck. :-)

I have to say I agree with you.
Either those painted lines mean something or get rid of them.

The BBC also just released an excellent documentary about the events depicted in Rush. Its called Hunt vs Lauda, and is on youtube I think.

Kimi's reply was even better. "Don't f'ing shout at me"

Lotus facebook page is under attack

Not the best thing for Lotus, Kimi fans can be pretty zealous.

I couldn't quite catch everything Kimi said in response.
Anybody have the transcript of exactly what he said?

Man! Some of these MotoGP wrecks look really painful. I think Id almost rather be beaten with a baseball bat.
And I actually have been beaten with a baseball bat. Thats not what caused the drain bamage though. My Mom took a lot of pills while she was carrying me. It seems I was a pain even before I was born.
Oh well..at least Im not just a loss of protein like Tack. biggrin.gif
I think the best part of him ran down his Moms leg.
