In the practice broadcast, there was a lot of talk about the Kimi thing from the last race and this week's news.
Matchett, who is a friend of Alan Permane, inferred the friction between Kimi and Lotus had gone back many weeks prior to the Indian race's radio outburst.
He implied there was suspicion Kimi might ALREADY be driving for Ferrari....in other words, underdriving
Personally, I don't buy this.
Of all the drivers out there, KR seems to be least concerned about racing politics.
My interpretation of the guy is he just wants to win and have fun.
Whether or not his team wins the Constructer's Championship is a much less concern.
Is Lotus upset to lose their F1 Elite Driver?
He!! ya....they should
No doubt it affects their fund raising abilities at a time when they are in desperate need of serious $$$.
However, they should take the longer, more mature view.
And that is there are in a fight with Ferrari and MB for positions 2 thru 4 and Kimi is someone who can help them greatly.
In a critical time for the future of the team, losing one's cool isn't the smart thing to do...by any stretch.
