What is your favorite scene?

What is your favorite scene to show off your system?

Just now I have decided it is the sand storm scene in the movie Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

This scene has everything from subtle sounds of dogs barking in the background, floor trembling bass and ear screeching grinding metal. It is literally sensory overload. All of these sounds going off in multiple directions while sand is pouring in from everywhere. Then the scene tops it off with a car crash that will make you duck your head.

Love it.

What is yours?

Opening sequence of Tenacious D and the pick of Destiny till after the title credits!! Too fun.

Then Chapter 4 of Master and Commander (the first big battle sequence.) Epic!

The dogfight sequence in the middle of THE RED BARON.

The machine guns and engines are amazingly realistic.

The engines are the most visceral since the last time I was in the pits at the drag strip...lol.

Flight club airplane scene where the plane is breaking up. Amazing sequence for surround sound.

I would say my favorites would have to be Lord of the Rings Return of the King battles. And probably the new Dark Knight Rises, bat helicopter alley scene.

Another scene I like to use is, actually two of them. Is the movie How To Train Your Dragon.

Chapter 9 really has some great LFE in it, you can almost feel the wind as he's flying Toothless for the first time.

Another one is the chapter (11 I think off the top my head) where the giant dragon breaks out of the mountain. That scene literally shakes my room.

I usually use these scenes to test out adjustments I've made to my sub.

Not sure about a scene...but the movie 2012 sure can put a speaker to the test!

Well going back to 1999 and 2000 when I was just stating out I put together a system with my new Pioneer AVR VSX-D498 with AC-3 decoding! Still have it in the pool house jamming tunes in the summer. My big scene back then was the Asteroid scene in Armageddon.

Now I guess I would have to say the pod emerging scene in war of the worlds. I am more of a bass head anymore and the scene just gives my XV-30's a work out!

Haven't seen Dark Knight Rises yet, so for now, the apartment shooting scene in Live Free or Die Hard is my new favorite still.

Flight of the Phoenix.

I love the street shootout scene in Book of Eli. Awesome dynamics and surround in that scene.

Great thread.
if i make an adjustment i like to fire up the first scene (car chase) in Quantum of Solace.
The plane jacking in the beginning of Dark Knight Rises is a good one too.

All the Batman trilogies have a great scene or two.

Lots of excellent scenes mentioned already.

One of my most favorites it the Star Destroyer fly over and ensuing ship to ship battle in the opening of Star Wars. I swear I can feel the lumbering presence of the huge space ship coming from behind and above me...awesome!

I bought this Blu Ray awhile back and never opened it, I believe it is the directors cut if that means anything? I have also never seen the movie. I think I am going to unwrap it today and check that scene out .
