I'm not sure what you mean. Are you thinking of having your DVR control an antenna rotor; i.e., automatically aim the antenna just before it starts to record? I'm sure such a thing is possible in theory, but I've never seen one.
Another possibility would be a DVR with a connector for a "smart antenna." Haven't seen one of those either, but I have seen tuners with them. You might be able to MacGyver a solution together with a PVR like the Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR, a smart antenna, and a compatible tuner. However, smart antennas aren't usually very high-gain antennas. They're meant more for folks who live in urban areas where the signals are strong but the stations lie in different directions.
So I guess it depends on where you're planning to move to.
