Reason I might not is I planned on putting those little brown plaistc circle feet on the bottom and they will be on carpet. Like I said. I might anyway.

I like the stain. I am going for the boring black look.. My wife actually started mentioning wrapping the subs in some slick vinyl patters she has come across.... If I can get the wife involved, I might be able to build four more subs smile.gif

You should look at the niles one also. about the same price. If you are good with electrical wiring you can easily make one yourself. All you need is a 12VDC relay and you are good to go.

I saw the Niles one. That's actually an external outlet and it costs more. I also could not find its amp rating anywhere. I like the clean look this one gives me. I have to install outlets anyway.

im going to be testing these for leaks etc. in my living room Friday. i would like to have them both in there, but i think i can only run 1 EP4K in there right now. that would only give each driver about 300 watts if i ran them all off one amp. im wondering if that is too low?

BTW I'm going to be building one of these boxes shortly - I will get some pictures and part numbers up if you're interested. I've been using a 20A power conditioner with a 12V switch on it up until now and the breaker constantly trips prematurely. When I connect straight to the outlet I have no issues. Pretty annoying so I'll take care of that by selling it off and building my own relay box.

thanks! ill put the 3rd coat of Arm-R-Seal on tonight. i love that stuff. you just wipe it on. no streaks. hard as a rock. its made by General Finishes.

finished them up today. i have them in my living room right now. they are in the front corners being EQ'ed by MultEQ only and powered by just one of the EP4K's. i have not gotten a lot of time to listen to them and i dont have a easy way to measure whats going on but i can tell it would need more EQ if i were keeping them in this room. LOTS of output even with one amp right now. If your using bags of polly, be careful. they put a paper wrapped stick in each bag i had. Like the chopsticks you get with takeout, only with one stick. Good thing i had to go back into one of them or else i might not have noticed. Definitely not something you want near your speaker cone!! Excuse the mess in some of the pics. i had not cleaned up my tools or the empty poly bags yet.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I still haven't gotten to crank them up. The wife and kids are watching the damn Disney Jr. Channel frown.gif

The fan on the amp is kinda loud so I dont even have them on at the moment. The amps will be on the other side of a wall once I get everything done downstairs so I'm not bothering swapping the fan out. It's not crazy loud. My old Playstation 3 would get louder.

Ill do some quiet music listening tonight over a couple of beers. Tomorrow ill have the house to myself so ill stretch their legs then.
