Sony gave me an offer, but which to choose?

I fell victim to a defective Sony SXRD TV that is 6 years old. I paid $1800 for it then and now it is basically worthless to anyone.

Here are my specific wants/needs from a TV.

Prefer to replace a 60 with a 60.
Want a great picture, but won't use 3D or Smart TV features. (Roku + Media Center hooked up) 3d is Blah to me at this stage.
Dont watch Sports or action, so I don't much care about 240hz, but maybe I will in a couple of years?

I am really waffling between the 2nd and 3rd choice below.

I emailed Sony Listens to complain and was provided the option to purchase the following:

1. 55" KDL55EX640 $815. + Tax
2. 60" KDL55EX640 $965. + Tax
3. 55" KDL55HX850 $1060. + Tax


Opinions are greatly welcomed. If you have any of the sets above I would love to get some additional feedback. Maybe you have already been down this road?

I am now also looking at the 60 Inch Vizio E-601 that is right around the same price that Sony is offering for their 60 inch set.

I am concerned about the random reboot problems I have read on the owners thread with the 55HX850.

I concur. The 850 is almost an enthusiast-level television. the 640 has less features, no gorilla glass and overall worse picture quality (including black levels, contrast, off-angle viewing angles), it's a consumer-level tv for the masses.

BTW my 850 can be completely black after i calibrated it. it's awesome on movies, no flashlighting!
