Im new to the 3d world. I have my heart set on this samsung my question; can i switch from 2d to 3d? for example if i want to watch tv or play non 3d games.

yes you can turn the 3d off or on. If your asking does it have a converter to convert regular 2d material to 3d, some models have it some don't it depends on the display, but the converter can also be turned off or on.
