I don't think NBC has formally anounced the Season 4 advisors, however, it looks like Cheryl Crow will be with Team Blake ..

CeeLo has also confirmed he will be back for Season 5 ..

Adam seems to be everywhere these days .. anyone see his part on "American Horror Story" .. ??

If you want something to tide you over until The Voice US returns, I would highly recommend The Voice of Ireland. I have access to the full episodes but RTE is putting all the performances up on their youtube channel too. The judges interactions are as good as the US judges, as are the performances. This is the 2nd season that just started airing a few weeks ago. I really wish they would get a US distributor for some of the English language foreign versions of The Voice. I like the Aussie version too.

The concept appears to work wonderfully regardless of region. My quibble with that video is that I thought she was awful as a singer.

The format I think works when it's not messed with too much and they get the right coaches. I do like the UK version but the BBC screwed it up and there was some obvious favoritism going on in it. The coaches were good, but looked like they were afraid to do or say anything. The Irish and Aussie versions have been just as good as the US version.

I like her on that song, but I agree I think she will have trouble keeping up against better singers. You would probably like Pat Byrne, last years winner.

So far in this season in Ireland. I like Aoife McLoughlin, Kirilee Dermot followed by Andrew Mann and Ray Scully. Which means they probably won't make it past the battle rounds.

With Idol ratings taking a dip again this season, I'm curious to see how Voice does with the two new mentors ..

From what I've read on AI (I no longer watch it) .. Nicki Minaj is not well liked by all although Keith Urban seems to be doing OK ..

You really should watch and judge for yourself. The 5 girls remaining (out of 8 contestants remaining) are all really good. And, I was really skeptical of Nicki but have grown to kind of like her.

If the DVR was not practically filled to the brim right now and the Voice starting up, I'd probably check it out .. on some of the other boards I've seen some pretty derogatory comments on her which kinda surprised me ..

Absolutely great show last night! Even the ones who didn't make it were pretty good, unlike some of the quacks they have in the prelims of American Idol. It does concern me that The Voice hasn't produced a true superstar yet however. And, I thought Usher and Shakira were two tremendous additions to the show. Obviously Shakira has already had that baby. smile.gif

Nicki is a dolt. She says idiotic things and for that she's either applauded or slammed. The horrendous ratings for the show this season are an indicator of what the public thinks. And then you got Mariah at the end of the table aka Paula/Steven/Ellen/Jlo. Incapable of offering anything in the way of criticism. I'd call Idol the worst singing competition on TV, but X Factor still exists. The Voice last night was a breath of fresh air. I'm sure NBC will appreciate any ratings upswing it gives them, since they've been consistently in about 4th place most of the year.

The switch to the 2 new judges couldn't have gone more seamlessly. They were fun, competitive and yet supportive of each other. I also saw many people calling for this to be the new panel permanently.

When Cee Lo returns next season, I don't expect him to take any vacations again for a long time. biggrin.gif

I was wondering if she was just in the early stages or if she had the baby already. I guess you're right though as I just looked and it says she gave birth on January 22nd. It also says the auditions started on January 12th, so that's strange. Did she pop out the baby and then just run to be part of the show?

So, does Usher actually play bass or was that just a prop during the coaches performance?

As for the judges, dare I say it, but I think there was more chemistry in just two shows than the others had in 3 seasons. I love CeeLo, but Usher is a great addition and was hysterical. The line about Nashville being a state and then the others ripping him was priceless.

Oh, and I gotta say, even though that Christian Porter didn't have the best voice, I absolutely loved what he did with that song. For as much as I have ripped others in the past for completely changing a song, this was very well done and very imaginative.

Watched Mondays and Tuesdays last night .. I don't want to sound way over the top, but damn .. I had my doubts about CeeLo taking a break but Usher has just been incredibly on the mark .. I thought that both he and Shakira took a little time to begin to feel their way in, but clearly on the Tuesday night show, they were both settling in quite nicely ..

I really, really like Shakira .. I had a few of her hits in my collection, but that's about it .. knew nothing about her and assumed she was just another pop Princess .. however, over the last two shows I see a woman that is articulate, able to go head to head with the guys, passionate about the show and her role, no over the top makeup, just a very clean look .. I could go on but I'm beginning to sound like a kid already ..

Such a difference from what's her name .. oh yeah, Christina .. who over especially the last season was snippy, looked bored half the time .. etc ..

And in comparison, I think last season, CeeLo lost some of his mojo as well .. maybe he knew he needed a break ..

Kudos to NBC for landing these two .. I don't know if there could have been any two that would have fit in better with Blake and Adam ..

On the contestants, I'm still not feeling any real front runner, standout .. and the continued use of "Go with me and we'll win this thing" pitch is getting a little over done .. the Michael Jackson backup singer I liked, but other than her, no performance is sticking out for me this morning .. they all gushed over the last girl last night that did the "God" song I did not feel like she did much with it that I had not already heard ..

And no rockers yet ..

Love the new panel. The best thing for the show is to keep them! CeeLo and Christina are already forgotten. Usher is much more entertaining, and Christina did indeed look bored with the show, while Shakira looks to be more into it.

Several websites reported that the Blind Auditions were filmed way back in the first week of November. That would put her about 6 months pregnant in the shows that we are just getting now. Apparently the Battle Rounds were also filmed before she had the baby.

I miss Christina's presence, but Shakira has been a welcome addition. Also very beautiful. Not seeing why anyone would choose her over the other 3 though. Usher has been pretty good, but I also don't have a good feel for what he's all about yet either.

To be honest, after last season, that's the only thing she brings to the table that Shakira doesn't.

I wonder if she was fuming after Adam specifically made sure to say that the woman who sang the Aguilera song sang it as good as her. Being the diva that she is, that must have struck a nerve.
