Hello All,
First post, never had a proper stereo, trying to get into the game with a pair of standmounts connected to my pc. Local dealer has KEF R300's and LS50's available for audition, while another has the Dynaudio X12 and X16, so that's my starting point and hopefully ending point also for this first time venture as I'm not really trying to spend too much time nor money on my first setup.
I've noticed here that people often refer to speakers as being "too big for one's room"
I was hoping for some clarification on that, is it just a matter of a most likely not needing certain SPL levels or can such a setup actually cause problems and deter from a speaker's full potential?
Also, in the meantime, I'm currently using a cheap Logitech z2300 setup and wanted to explore my first DAC, the Hifiman HM-101 one sells for $39, would I even hear a difference with my current speakers?
FYI, my room is around 15'x12', I listen to all types of music, and will probably end up with the Rega Brio-R amp and yet to be determined DAC in the $500 range
Thanks in advance
