It was pointless to you because you fail to see the point. Or possibly, you have not been screwed by a company like Pioneer and Sony (both have found stupid loop holes not to honer their warranties). They have products on the shelf right now. They are almost all made in China or Indonesia. They are made Not to last. They need us to replace our phones, receivers, computers every few years to stay in business. Example: If my receivers had not fallen apart in less than 2 years I would have had to "upgrade" because" new Blu Rays and TV's use HDMI 1.3 or higher and mine was 1.2. It caused compatibility problems that made my Samsung TV not work correctly. MY phone they changed cell tower signal technology to accommodate a ton of stuff that has nothing to do with my ability to make a phone call. Texting, Hi speed data transfer, all add on technologies to my my monthly bill higher. I tried to buy just a standard "free phone" but it was so cheaply made I could not hear who I was talking to. I bought a Apple 5 to go with my iMac and Mac Pro and it works great but my bill is 154.00 a month. 10 years ago I had international calling and 5000 minuets a month for 49.00 a month. I expect in 2 years I will be forced to buy another phone to be compatible with the technology. MY POINT is if you have a ton of money you can have what you want , when you want it. I am not rich. I spend a lot of time researching to get the most for my money. Eric is Tekton. Tekton is Eric. This is a tiny start up company. Eric is a master craftsman and a highly regarded engineer. Eric is trying to market a line of loudspeakers that appearance and more importantly performance that will compete with some of the best out there. He is doing this at a price point that you and I can afford. MY point is again "Price ,quality, service". Pick two. You never get all three. For a price you can have what you want right now. At Eric's price we can get a some good not great sounding made in China direct online speakers. Are you getting the picture? Eric may not be a great communicator or have fine tuned his business model. To be faster he will have to raise prices and delegate the work load. That could mean problems with quality control until he has a chance to fine tune that. I believe he is just trying to hand build our speakers and they may be late but they are going to be to Eric's specifications. My Def Tech speakers (my first set BP-2000) were made in the USA. Now the new products are made overseas. Still a good product but not the quality it was. Golden Ear their "sister" company sell a pair of speakers for $500.00 more. Same Def - Polk sound with ribbon tweeters. Their center channel and surrounds are "chunks of plastic" with the same speaker array. They advertise so much do you think for a second that any publisher is going to allow a negative review? Don't get me wrong, If Eric was not out there I would be entertaining those brands. In response to another person I have now BP-7000, CRL-3000, BPX, SM450 and 2 CUBE III. I have crystal clear voices, thunderous bass with Ok not great muddy Mid range and sub parr Highs. ( Golden ears Ribbon tweeters were made to fix that). All my stuff is refurbished from Def Techs E bay outlet. To get better I can spend 3 times more at least or allow Eric to be Eric. Not to name names but in the same city as Eric there is a mid sized Loudspeaker company who is like Eric getting a lot of reviews. This is what I have seen in the last 6 months. 2 price increases. Every day B stock for bid on Audiogon from rushing orders. Speakers less than a year old for sale. 6 weeks out on orders. I am sure they are a very good speaker company. I am just pointing out they all have "strengths and weaknesses". Eric is the last of the "old school" craftsman. These are custom, made to order products. He makes what he feels is the "Stradivarius" of loudspeakers. They should not be rushed. I feel he is a little bit of an eccentric. I sad before a symptom of "genius". I can easily live with that. He has one hell of a resume. I am F**king tried of typing and ragging. I am just to paint a picture of a unique situation we have to get some GREAT speakers that we can afford. Yes there is a wait. Yes, he most likely builds the grills when he is caught up . Eric is Tekton and Tekton is Eric. There is no big company. Just Eric and maybe a helper or two. I am very grateful that Eric is Eric and he is building my loudspeakers.
