It seems there are four predominat types of posters in this thread:
- Those who've ordered speakers from Tekton and are completely satisfied with the process, delivery time and product and have few to no complaints and enjoy their speakers;
- Those who've ordered speakers from Tekton who were somewhat disappointed with the process or have not yet received their grilles, but still enjoy their speakers;
- Those who've ordered speakers from Tekton who were too disappointed with the order wait times and the process of dealing with Tekton so they cancelled their orders; and
- Those who've not ordered any speakers from Tekton but are frequent contributors to AVS who are discussing the company, it's business practices and claims, but who are not opining on the quality of the speakers.
I don't think any individual who fits into any of the above categories has any more of a right to discuss Tekton than any of the other posters in this thread. Most of the people who have no dealings with Tekton but have an opinion based on the discussions of those that have dealt with Tekton are not disparaging the quality of the speakers as they have not heard them. Analogously, I can discuss Wal Mart's alleged business tactics based on reports whether or not I frequent their store.
I fit into the second category above. I like the sound of my M-Lores. I was initially disappointed with the lack of clarity with my delivery time. My speakers were delayed only a few weeks. It appears that I was one of the lucky ones, but at the time when I was told on various occasions that my speakers would be ready on this date and such date came and passed, I was not pleased. So I empathize with those who are going through the same thing.
I don't condone the comments of those who are referring to Eric's religion or political ideology as I don't think he has brought that into the conversation. Some of his other personal issues have been discussed by him, so I don't think that it is out of bounds to discuss them here, so long as people are not being malicious.
I appreciate the opinions of non-owners such as Bill (who has shared his scientific expertise), JBrown and Chu Gai, so long as they are discussing the Company and its business practices or the science behind the speakers. That's what this forum is for. In addition, while I don't think having hardly any posts devalues your opinion, it is not in the least bit surprising that readers will be somewhat skeptical of those individuals who have very few posts but who are extolling the virtues of Tekton. If I were a company who wanted to avoid a PR problem, I might hop on and post a few good things about my company as well.
To wrap up my long-winded post, I will reiterate what others have said above: it seems that people are highly satisfied with the quality of the speakers Tekton is offering. The only rub is the lack of communication and the unreliable wait times. If those two things are fixed, which only time will tell if they will be, then I think that this thread will rapidly turnaround into a place for positive discussions on the enjoyment of the speakers. Until then....
