I'll be down for sure. I voted for the April 6th but the 13th works for me also. Like last time I'll be flying down the Friday afternoon, so I can help you out again with the physical work Friday and Saturday. I'll also be contributing $$$ to the beer fund. biggrin.gif

It would be great to EQ the speakers if at all possible, but with the time constraints we have, that will probably depend on how many speakers we have for auditioning. Personally I would would like to hear both music and movie being played during the demos. If we have the time auditioning surround speakers would be interesting also.

For people out of town Andrew's recommended hotel accommodations are great - very close, clean, and reasonably priced.

It will be great to see you guys again - I can hardly wait!

Cheers,

That would be great. I can't wait until we start to get a list of solid speakers that will be there as well.

I'd actually like to hear them, something I didn't get to do in October.

You have yourself a deal! wink.gif You did a really good job last time, so no sense messing with something that works.

For the subs I think that was great, but for speakers it may not be as relevant. For at least the movie clips I'd prefer to see the video portion that accompanies the soundtrack.

I am interested in attending since I missed the last GTG and anyone of those Saturdays is fine with me at this point.

Would love to hear the JTR's but anything being demoed will be welcomed by me.

If the consensus is that everyone would like to hear something from Seaton Sound and JTR I'll reach out to both Mark and Jeff to see if I can arrange something. I found them both to be pretty amenable, so they may be willing to contribute.

I will see if I can make it up there.

I voted March 30th because my football season usually starts in April so if I have a game that weekend in April I definitely won't be able to make it up.

I will have my JTR Triple 12 setup that I could potentially bring up if I can find a ride (*cough* popalock *cough*) or if my mom feels like letting me borrow her car again which I'm sure she wouldn't mind. They definitely won't fit in my G37s coupe.

I know they aren't the fancy Noesis that people almost have me wanting to upgrade to prior to even hearing the T12's lol but they are all I will have by then.

At this point I'm like 50/50 though but if there are people interested in hearing those speakers I will definitely try to make it up there. I know I've had a bitch of a time the past 2 months trying to find a local JTR setup to demo, and I blind purchased the T12's yesterday due to everyone hyping them and won't have them until Monday, so I'd be glad to let people hear them since I didn't get the chance to hear them prior to purchasing them.

I pretty much blind purchased the dual caps from Andrew so I'm expecting the T12's to live up to the hype!

GO SKINS TAKE THE NFCE!

Yea why not. I'm in any date.

Drew - I think I speak for the group when I say we would 100% like to hear the t12s. I'm sure popalock or others can help with the haul. biggrin.gif

Others can chime in as well.

Both T12 owners looking to sell and trade up on the Noesis 212 and perspective JTR customers looking to get a great deal on some used T12's would have the oppertunity.
Used JTR equipment is a hell of a good way to get your foot in the door on some Bada$$ HT gear.

I'm going 'official' with the B-52 PA cabinet rehab. I'll be using the 12" Sony Xplod subs as full-range woofers in a 2x12" full-range 2-way convertible sealed/ported design. Let's call them 'The Xploders'. The tweeter will be the same Compression Driver horn I've been using on my mains. The system will almost certainly be a bi-amped with a DSP crossover since that worked so well for me already i.e. the design is already well tested with months of listening and tweaking already done - the trick is to transfer the whole thingg to the PA cabs, making them portable. These will be 'full range' speakers in the true sense - no sub required (although it can't hurt!).

OK, we will ad the xploders to the list. smile.gif

Bump for votes and interest. I'm also toying with the idea of building/upgrading my front stage. biggrin.gif

I hope so! FWIW I hooked a pro amp up to the SHOs and they really scream, and clean! The sound quality is the same and I still have them crossed at 90, but I've had them up to +10 or so without audible distortion. biggrin.gif Not for any extended period of time though, as I can't stand it that loud for long.

It's a shame you can't say the same thing about the owner of the company, eh?

Just got confirmation from Jeff at JTR that he wants to come out again. Bring your ear plugs, folks. biggrin.gif This time I'll bring the pro amp out to drive the Noesis or whatever creation(s) he brings. eek.gif

Get your votes in by Friday!!

Hey guys, I've been mostly away from the forums for the holidays but I'm still definitely interested in attending this GTG. I voted for April 13th but the other dates work for me as well.

I can bring any of the following speakers if there is interest:

Arx A1b bookshelf speakers
Arx A2 Center (Has been replaced by Arx A2b Center)
Arx A5 towers

Dana 630i bookshelf speakers

Hope everyone had a good holiday season/ New Years!
-Ryan

Good to see some more movement here. This should be another great GTG as I am looking forward to listening to speakers I have only read about but never heard. JTR probably among the top of that list.

Hey Ryan, great to hear from you again. I'll add you to the list. I'm thinking the A5 towers would be most applicable in the full range group.

I'm thinking once a date is set we'll start to get some more guys committing.

I'm going to try to crank out a high output set of SEOS based mains in the next month or so. I really like that 15" B&C driver - it's capable of some really really serious output, on par with something like the TD15M driver. Coupled with the DNA360 horn (same as DE250) it should be a killer combination. biggrin.gif It will be cool to compare them to the high end ID high efficiency offerings.
It seems like there is going to be some DIY stuff as well. That will be really cool since I have never really experienced anything in that category. Plus a fiend of mine has some Legacy speakers but I have never really heard them other then at CES which was not really the best place to hear them. So I will be interested in those as well.

After having spent the past month or so with the Arx A1b's and A2b I would definitely like to hear the A5 again, especially since I got little time to listen in October. Not sure about the full range group though; I think without a sub they might struggle a bit. Also, if we plan on doing any movie test scenes we'll need the center as well.

Sweet! I didn't think of this before, because they are probably many levels below most of the others being brought, but in addition to the seos speakers I am building(the "minion" if I can get them done in time, no sense in bringing the 15" b&c model if you are building them too) I can bring my Revel speakers too. Nothing special on the Revels, just f12 towers if anyone is interested in a comparison of how badly a $400 a piece diy like the seos trounces a $750 a piece commercial product like the Revel. Don't get me wrong, I think they are great in my living room, just not up to par with the likes of the others.

You're right, if we're both buliding the same then no need to duplicate. As for the Revel's, let's see what we have in the list in the March timeframe. We want to make sure we give ample time for each setup. cool.gif

Interested in attending and although I do not have any speakers to bring for demo I would like to bring something (food or drink) to help get everyone through many hours of fun.

We might take you up on that offer. wink.gif Once we get everything figured out -- who's coming, the exact date, etc -- Andrew and I will start nailing down the specifics, all of which will be communicated to the attendees.

Sounds good, just wanted to make the offer as not to show up with no gear. If anything else is needed, amps, recievers, etc. let me know.
