Mike - You raise a number of good points.

1) content - Let me hit up Mark and Jeff to pick their brains for some interesting content. I know Mark played a few tracks for us at the October GTG that had showcased some amazing dynamics.
2) Listening levels - I would be OK varying the volume as long as we level match of course and each setup gets played at similar volume levels - at least for the 'normal' audition part of the event. smile.gif
3) Setup - We actually haven't discussed setup for a while. I second the notion for running a basic 1 position Audyssey run to set distance and levels. We can definitely take some sweeps during setup as well. I'm not sure how much time we will have for tweaking manual eq, but we can give it a shot on Friday night to see how much time we're sucking up.
4) Food - Yes there are plenty of places nearby for takeout, but I was wondering if anyone had particular grilling skills they would be willing to offer. We've got the patio outside and we could do some serious BBQ'ing of our own if we had someone interested in playing chef. smile.gif
5) Beer king - I have no doubt you will come well equipped, I know how you roll. biggrin.gif

Id pay to come. Jeff is my audio idol and both he and craig have spent (possibly painful) hours on the phone with me.

Uh, PM me for ticket sales... $25 for outside overflow seating. +$25 and you can touch Mark or Jeff.

Just one of them, one touch... Above the waist, 5 seconds max.

And I am going to have to make some careful selections if I am going to retain the title of "Beer King." If we do get together on Friday night, I might have to bring something extra special.

You're gonna have some stiff competition coming from beer city USA if I end up driving. Just sayin' biggrin.gif

You must have hit your head when you did that mud dive, because I don't recall anything like that.

I am not too far...would give my right nut to attend. How do I get on board? Willing to kill, plead or be a pizza goofer.
Keep your eyes pealed boys...if things go according to plan, there will be a "special appearance" added to the lineup!
ChopShop... Does that mean you have space for me!!! smile.gif
post #315 of 938
Oh my! Seems like there is a secondary market for our spots now smile.gif
post #316 of 938
I know this GTG is already at capacity. However I really need to attend this get together, I'm currently selling my three GR-Research LS9 arrays albeit with a heavy heart.

I'm looking to replace them in a dedicated theater room with either Noesis, catalyst 12Cs, or Danley SH50s, however I have heard none of these speakers and have been able to find no one to demo the speakers for me.

I am in the craft beer industry and will bring multiple cases of some fantastic beers if I can get in. An example of what I sell, Bells, Founders, troegs, alesmith, green flash, southern tier, dark horse, bear republic, lagunitas, epic and on and on.

So yes I can supply some goodies. Please let me know if its possible for me to attend.

Thanks!!

Guys - As much as I'd love to open up the flood gates, we're going to have to stick to the list. We currently have 25 attendees and a dozen or so large or larger speaker setups that will take up a room of their own. With the current list we will already be hard pressed to make sure everyone gets a chance to sit in the "sweet spots" for a few tracks.

With that said, if there is anyone on the list that cannot make it, please let me know asap so that I can let the others who have posted in this thread know a spot is available.

This GTG is gonna be epic. The day can't come soon enough and I'm not even attending !

biggrin.gif Hope you can pull them off in time, Jake. They would become a show stealer for sure.

LOL - I'm sure it's true I had a few too many. Far too many delicious choices.

Forget all that though - that Flower Power from Ithaca is the REAL DEAL. Honestly bring me 2 cases of it, I will pay for it. biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

And I enjoyed every one I drank.... one of my favorite beers....

I guess I will be the responsible one and be the designated(sober) person at this event tongue.gif. Someone has to be the responsible one biggrin.gif. One too many and the remote will end up in my hands. Although, come to think of it, that probably wouldn't make much of a difference anyway.

SO back to the slip n slide comment. I built this one a few years ago and we had an absolute blast! I can submit design plans to you if you can get me a general layout of said slip n slide area. We called ours slip n bleed and eventually made it to the point where we also doing tow-ins (not TOE-ins haha)

LOL Beast you're not playing!! I'm assuming in April it won't be quite warm enough for such an event without an excessive amount of alcohol but I would be interested for this summer.smile.gif

Well you would notice on the left there, that was a nice keg'a cold beer to help us with our imagination of what we could accomplish with that particular situation biggrin.gif haha

I imagine the barrel pairs well with such a device. biggrin.gif

Speaking of beer, I'm going to search this weekend to find some of this Flower power. I may have a local source!

Wait a minute. Is this a beer tasting or a speaker demo event? biggrin.gif
