Well, to get everyone started with suggesting clips I have picked out a few good sections of interesting string work. These are from the Latest Sherlock Holmes movie soundtrack.

Sample 1: http://sdrv.ms/VjII0J

Sample 2: http://sdrv.ms/ZK27Xh

Sample 3: http://sdrv.ms/ZK0VDt

And this fourth one gives me chills every time I hear it on a good system. It is the beginning to one of the demo tracks that are included in FL Studio.

Sample 4: http://sdrv.ms/13ulKrc

Let me know what ya'll think. (All files are in wav format)

(I don't mean to have all these included in the demo music, just trying to get ideas flowing)

Enjoy!!!!

I'm about to buy another Clone... Anyone else interested? Leveraging the shipping costs between a few people can add up to a decent coin saved. I'll have all of them shipped to my place and bring them up to the GTG in a few weeks. I know this isn't the Clone Group Buy thread, but since I couldn't jump in on Rillz recent acquisition (so damn impatient bro...lol) I thought I would extend the offer to all just in case.

What are we at now fellas? Like 5 weeks and counting?!?!

^ On a related note, I've got all brand new components for my old clone, which I should be assembling this weekend. If all goes well I will have an "extra" brand new clone that I just got in this week. Not sure if I should keep as a spare/backup or sell it off.

Can't believe how close we're getting to the event! woot!

Cool. I hear you, holler anytime. I'll have all 16 SI's up and running by then, so you will definitely need to stop by to check out the rig at the least. Still need to figure out the logistics for me that weekend. Might just convoy up there with you, so I can leave early / stay longer or whatever.

Wish I could have got Rush some music clips. I just don't have access to much FLAC / Lossless audio or software to cut the song clips down.

Did we ever get a consolidated music/movie clip list finalized or is it still in process?

I suppose the standard 80hz will do?

Thanks man! I'm sure you've got some good stuff in there. Probably very similar to my own taste as well.
what i sent is here
http://rootminus1.com/admin/AVS/Song%20Clips/FLAC%20Clips/

i tried to do some variation, and not just metal

the reason i asked about xover freq is because i corss at 100 and im not sure if done at 80 the subs will even be hit on some tracks, however Ben should be able to tell that eaisily as FL Studio has a feq graph
post #440 of 938
For the main+sub I have no idea where we should cross at.

Perhaps the owner of each set of speakers should choose, as that's really dependent on how low the mains can go well.

Im in Rilla if you have room for an extra. I have Monitor Audio RX8's and I also have some Mordaunt Short Carnival 2's I am not using. I could also slip in a PSA XV30 or 2 biggrin.gif
post #446 of 938
Cool idea guys. This would be a fun event to attend. Not only to meet all of you, but to listen to such a diverse lineup of speakers.

I messed around with this extensively last night playing a few metal tracks off the new As I Lay Dying and Soilwork albums, and there is definitely a noticeable difference between 80 and 100 but the subs were kickin pretty good on both XO points so my suggestion would be 80hz since that is pretty much the standard for a lot of folk's systems.

I know the idea was to do a local set of clips, but I'll once again offer loaners of the disks I've got on hand and can email em ahead of time....

In addition to the Reference Disk and the Ultimate Disk 2.0 (plus my own ICOEBB bass music collection), I now have a successful burn of the latest AVS community produced disk, Ultimate Bass Demo Disk v1:

Please do, that would be awesome.
