Hi. I'm going to start working on my theater room soon and I'm trying to figure out what I should do for the rear and rear surround speakers. I am not currently concerned about matching my front soundstage to the rear speakers.
Here's a detailed drawing of dimensions, room treatments, and proposed speaker placement.

At first I was wanting to do speakers mounted on the wall or very close to the wall. Then I was thinking about in-wall or in-ceiling speakers for the rear speakers. Now I'm just now sure. I know that speakers generally don't perform as well when on or very close to a boundary unless designed for that way. The surround speakers location and distance look fine, but the rear speakers seem like they would be incredibly close to the listening positions.
Any suggestions?
For in-walls I was looking at the Emotiva speakers (although I haven't heard them).
For surround speakers I am considering the HSU-HB1 MK2 (having heard them and liking the specs); that's about my price limit $150/each.
I have seen a lot of different ways people do their rear speakers and I'd really like something mounted fairly high-up on the wall (I have aa small kid) and maybe angled down and /or inverted.
