Looking for new TV

Hi
I hope you guys can help me
have had my old plasma ( LG 50PK350)for a while and decided to change it.
Have bought second hand LG47LM670T.
to be honest its not a big difference
Tv from dreambox dm800 is rubbish, bluray its better but either on tv or bluray tv has lots of blur quite often
Is it possible that is broken?
I like passive 3d

My questions are :
Is there any way to check panel for fault ?
Broken or not have planed to buy new one
Looking for 55" passive 3d up t0 £1400
