Statement tower build question

I started cutting my MDF per the plans. all my router stuff(jasper jig and bits) will be here next week. my main question as of now is the 3/4 and 1/2 baffles.... which goes on first to the cabinet? the 3/4 then the 1/2? total noob to building speaker boxes, fiured id jump in feet first and build all statements. any help would be great. any former statement builders out there?

Everyone like pictures. What I glued today before I had to go in to work. I'm using loctite PL. I have wood glue also, haven't used it yet. Any guidance on which adhesive to use or what is stronger bonding?

PL expands, which is helpful if you don't have the greatest cuts, but wood glue is equally as strong-- it just won't fill any gaps for you.

Thanks. like a total noob i messed up a sheet of MDF already trying to handle a large sheet on the table saw... i can recut them for the mini's. shoudl be an interesting ride. biggrin.gif

The goal is to end up with a panel that is 1 1/4" thick. It doesn't matter if the 1/2" piece is outside or inside.

Have you read the 'official' build threads?

Thanks. Yes I have read 100s of pages of builds. Haven't read any monitor builds yet. They may hold the little secrets I've been missing. Hoping this weekend I can get 1 cabinet close. Only thing got me thinking now is how to clamp the top and bottom down while the glue dries. Maybe let the weight of the box hold it?

gluing tunnel supports. Also worth noting i read the PL glue stains your hands...yep need some gloves.

ok from another quick study of the plans the top and bottom are not on the outside...the sides hold them in place.oopsy cool.gif
