Worth replacing Samsung LN52A650?

How do newer TV's fare with this old model? I remember purchasing it back in late 2008 and my parents want to now replace it with a skinnier TV. Do you guys think it's worth it?

I used to hate this TV, but I managed to calibrate it correctly and I personally think it still looks fantastic. The main reason why I'm asking if it's a good TV is because my parents are going to give it to me and I'm just wondering if I should just sell it and buy a new model or just stick with it

Take it, keep it, cherish it. It won't have any flashlighting or clouding and will have better off-angle pq than most new sets. If you must have "Smart TV" add a BD player or PS3 or Roku box or Apple tv. The A and B 650s are oldies but goodies.
