Laying off the booze, too. On the other hand, I'm getting paid to DJ a huge party tonight so it all comes out in the wash. biggrin.gif Nothing but movie watching tomorrow. Lot of Christmas gifts to catch up on.

Yeah I have the same disdain against going to the cinemas, which is Vudu and Amazon's IV service is my antidote.

I hear you. I have a well run and reasonably priced cineplex located only 10 minutes away so I still see a lot of films in the theater. Otherwise, I would definitely subscribe to Netflix and, probably, get more recent films from Vudu or Amazon a la carte. Cinemark's no cell phone use warning, to follow the rules or get out, runs before every movie I see in my neighborhood cineplex. I love it!

Yeah, a little surprised by that choice.
Maybe I'll have to put aside my distaste for cops....tongue.gif

I don't think that was Shoshanna's father, but the French dairy farmer who hid Shoshanna and her family. I think her father was one of those killed under the floorboards.

Here are my favorites for 2012:

(in no particular order)

- The Dark Knight Rises - I'm an absolute fan of this franchise and TDKR is a fitting ending. I will miss Bale as Wayne/Batman.
- Argo - Ben Affleck's best film to date, even if his list as a director is still short wink.gif
- Silver Linings Playbook - I didn't quite like Bradley Cooper before seeing this, this film changed my mind. De Niro in great form. Jennifer Lawrence too wink.gif
- Cloud Atlas - I love the subject, the fact that the Wachowskis took the risk of adapting the novel, I think they succeeded. I can't wait to see it again.
- Prometheus - For the last time I don't care about Fifield and Millburn! biggrin.gif I loved the film and I'm not ashamed!

...oh and of course there's this little indie flick called The Avengers, but if I had to watch one of them again now, it would be one of the five above.

...and John Carter's failure was really unfair.
