Is there a file size limit for attachments??

I used zip to compress a REW file with just 4 measurements from 9.6MB to 7.6MB and get this upload error

I'm trying to have others help me in this thread http://www.avsforum.com/t/1446659/multi-sub-help-diy-triangle-sub-w-dayton-audio-rss460ho-4-18-24-sides-x-34-face-x-32-tall-5-5-cu-ft

I'll have to look, but I'd think zip files would not be an allowed file type.

Oops! You're trying to attach a type of file which is not allowed. Supported file types are: bmp, csv, doc, docx, gif, jpg, otf, pdf, png, ppt, pptx, psd, pub, rtf, ttf, txt, xls, xlsx, xml, and zip

So zip files work. When I try your file, I get "The file being uploaded exceeds the maximum file size of 5MB" so that's the issue there.

Mike-5MB is that real world practical for our forum?

A basic REW file with only 4 measurements is 9.5MB uncompressed and 7.5MB zipped.

Can the limit be changed to 10MB to allow REW data file uploads?

I'm sure it's hard-coded on all Huddler platform sites.
I would think just about every seasoned AVS member has several of their own cloud accounts for file storage & distribution.

Well chalk it up to a Huddler "std" for taking away some simple upload ability for quick analysis of REW by fellow members, one very important tool for acoustic analysis.

btw, 5MB upload limit seems so.......mid 2000's?
My Google Picasa web albums used to be 1GB limit in 2007, then they up'd it to 2GB, and recently to 5GB limit....all still free.

I should hope so. That's pretty much all they're used for. And even they have a 20MB limit per file.
We'll even let you go past 5GB for free. 5MB at a time. cool.gif

As you can see above in post 4, attaching a zip file works. Is it this particular file or are you unable to use any file? This seems to be limited to you as no one else is reporting any issues with this.

Mike - I had no problem attaching the exact same zip file to HTS forum, so why can't I simple attach the same zip file @ avs forum?
